review: jm-obsession.

[review: top ten] has been updated.

first impression: simplicity.

layout: [ninteen of thirty points] perhaps a little too simplistic. while the color scheme works, black, grey, and white will forever go to gether with red. what is nice that you possibly gave thought to your portrait on the page, but we will likely never know. your links work, and credit to your designer is on the top page. the layout lacks a certain spark, however.

content: [ forty-four of sixty points] we started, as we always seem to do, at the beginning, and worked our way out to the fringe. [ three entries in], your sincerity shows briliantly. while different people tread different paths, you have your own faith, and that is all that is really required. the next entry, you talk about love. love, for all the strength it can give, can also leave one to be betrayed of the trust they are willing to give to someone. you mention Nick being grounded so we have little choice but to assume you are in high school, as college students usually get kicked the fuck out of the house when they sufficiently aggravate their parents. it is amuzing when children in their teens throw around the 'L' word, when they unwittingly mean "lust." we are all only human after all. while you show deep regret for breaking andy's heart, it is a natural form of character solidification. everyone needs a heartbreak even once in their lives to dash out unwarranted optimisim.

and we are only four entries in. this may be a long, long, review. but then again, possibly not. we are starting to see some recurring themes here, but we are learning a little more about you. currently, you are a junior in high school, but seem to have a penchant for british slang.

OOOOH! you almost got caught? "cuddling and whatnot?" or possibly something else? we can see that you are setting yourself up for a fall quite nicely. such devotion to another human usually leads to disaster. although given angst, and the molotov cocktail of hormones running through your average teen's body, an explosive mixture is sure to result. you have such a strong dislike for your family now, but that is likely due to teen rebellion, once you do get away, and your head clears up after puberty, you'll see. hopfully you'll keep your faith, and realize what your teachings really are about.

your relationship with nick lasted for what? three months? four, counting the time spent in limbo? while it surprises us not that such a thing happened, it is always a surprise to teenagers. when something is fundamentally flawed from the get-go most teenagers don't have the bandwidth to handle such things successfully. expect at least two more such occurrences in your life, until you are suitably polarized.

though it seems you're making good progress, but you are still a little vuage on a few. **AHEM** things. this is likely for the better, anyway. you being underage and all... from there, things move quickly, but succinctly as well.

frequency: [six of ten points] once every three days or so.

bonus: [one point] mister biased enjoys seeing people discover who they truly are.

judgement: congratulatoins: you have reached the age of reason. you are at the point in your life to which you are questioning everything you've ever been taught about morality, life and emotion. it can be a liberating experience. you make mention that you are not feeling the same thing as you used to. this is perfectly normal. while faith is a basic requirement of humans, it is ultimately faith in ourselves that gives us the most strength, rather than some abstract concept as a diety.

switchfoot really isn't a good band to wallow in self-pity to. any nine inch nails will do wonderfly, as does mudvayne's L.D. 50 album. might be a little too extreme for your tastes, but once you get the release, and 'get' the true purpose of the music that is not the most wholesome, you'll enjoy yourself more. mister biased finds mudvayne's "not falling" particulary uplifting, even two years after its release.
